What is Rock Paper Scissors?

Rock Paper Scissors is a classic hand game for two players. Each round, both sides choose one of three options:

  • Rock beats Scissors
  • Scissors beats Paper
  • Paper beats Rock

Same choice = draw. The game is often used as a quick tiebreaker or for fun.

How to Play

  1. Choose a difficulty (Easy, Medium, Hard, or Expert). You can change it anytime.
  2. Click Rock, Paper, or Scissors. The game shows "Computer thinking..." for a moment, then the computer’s choice and the result.
  3. Win by picking the option that beats the computer’s choice. Your score goes up and your streak increases.
  4. Lose and the computer’s score goes up; your streak resets to zero.
  5. Draw when you both pick the same option; neither score changes and your streak resets.
  6. Bonus: Get 3 wins in a row to earn +2 extra points for that third win.
  7. Use Reset stats to clear scores and streak (best streak is kept). Check the Game stats panel for total games, win %, and best streak.

Rules Summary

  • Rock beats Scissors, loses to Paper.
  • Paper beats Rock, loses to Scissors.
  • Scissors beats Paper, loses to Rock.
  • Same choice = draw (no score change, streak resets).
  • Scoring: +1 per win, streak increases; loss or draw resets streak. Best streak is saved.

Difficulty Levels

  • Easy – The computer picks a random move every time. Good for learning or casual play.
  • Medium – About half the time the computer plays randomly; the other half it counters your last move. Slightly harder than Easy.
  • Hard – The computer looks at how often you’ve played Rock, Paper, and Scissors, predicts your most common choice, and counters it. Vary your play to do well.
  • Expert – Uses a simple pattern model (last two moves) to predict your next move and counters it. No randomness; it always tries to counter the predicted move. Mix up your choices to stay unpredictable.

Strategy Tips

  • Vary your moves – On Hard and Expert, repeating the same option makes you easy to predict.
  • Avoid obvious patterns – Expert looks at your last two moves; alternating in a fixed way (e.g. rock–paper–scissors–rock) can be exploited.
  • Use streaks – Three wins in a row give a bonus; play for consistency when you’re ahead.
  • Reset when you want – Use "Reset stats" to start fresh; your best streak is still saved.
