What image size should I upload?

For best results, upload a square image that is at least 512x512 pixels. This gives the generator enough resolution to produce sharp output at every target size. SVG files work especially well since they scale without quality loss.

Do I still need an ICO file?

Most modern browsers support PNG favicons, but including a 32x32 ICO file ensures compatibility with older browsers and certain desktop applications. The generator produces both formats so you are covered either way.

Where do I put the generated files?

Place the favicon files in your website's root directory or a dedicated /icons folder. Then paste the generated HTML <link> tags into the <head> section of your HTML document so browsers know where to find each size.
